Council Meeting Structure


Citizens are encouraged to attend and participate at Council meetings. In order for Council to have a structured and orderly meeting, citizens are asked to contact the City Administrator to have an item placed on the Council agenda for consideration. The agenda is finalized by 4:00 p.m. the Thursday prior to the Council meeting.


The Mayor will recognize and engage citizens at the meeting in a variety of ways, 1) under the Citizen Comments items of the regular agenda which are typically item #7 and #12, 2) under Legislative Items, 3) under Action Items and 4) under Discussion Items. The Mayor will provide an opportunity for citizen comment prior to calling for a Council vote and also before moving on to the next agenda item.


Citizens wishing to speak at the meeting are asked to go to the podium, state their name and address.
